Continue to Mae Sai, Thailand’s northernmost point at the Myanmar border, and shop for local products. After a free lunch, explore the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, and admire the Golden Buddha Statue and Mekong River views. Visit the Opium Museum to learn about the region’s history, then tour Chiang Saen’s ancient ruins, including temples, stupas, and city walls dating to 1328.
