Itinerary

Arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, where your guide welcomes you and transfers you to a centrally located hotel. Thailand’s vibrant capital blends glittering temples with bustling markets. Spend the day at leisure, relaxing or exploring nearby streets filled with street food stalls and vibrant nightlife.

After breakfast, we visit the Grand Royal Palace dedicated to the ceremony of the royal family of Thailand. In the same compound is the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew which is known for the Statue of the Emerald Buddha. After visiting this complex, we continue to visit Wat Pho, a giant house of the lying Buddha. Then, we visit the Wat Traimit which is well known as the Golden Buddha. Afternoon, boarding on a long tail boat for an excursion along the Chao Phraya River and many bustling interior canals that offer fantastic views of local life close by. Along the way, we stop at Wat Arun, the temple of the Aube. Return to the hotel and free time for relaxation. Overnight in Bangkok Meals: Breakfast

Depart early (6:00–7:15 AM) for Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former Thai capital. Visit Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, blending Thai, Chinese, and Gothic styles. Explore Ayutthaya’s ancient temples: Wat Mahathat, with its iconic Buddha head in tree roots; Wat Phra Si Sanphet, a royal temple; and Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, home to a large bronze Buddha. After a buffet lunch, board the Grand Pearl Cruise for a scenic return along the Chao Phraya, passing the Royal Barges House, Thammasat University, and Wat Arun. Enjoy coffee and arrive at River City Pier by 4:00 PM. Transfer back to your hotel.

Enjoy free time in Bangkok before transferring to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Upon arrival, your guide escorts you to your hotel. In the afternoon, cruise Tonle Sap Lake to Kampong Phluk, a floating village with stilted homes, schools, and a police station that shift with water levels. Witness local life on Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Return to Siem Reap for a free evening.

Explore the Angkor Archaeological Park, starting with Angkor Thom, the 12th-century capital. Enter via the South Gate, adorned with statues depicting the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and visit the Bayon Temple, with 54 towers and 216 smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara. See the Phimeanakas, Royal Enclosure, Terrace of the Elephants, and Terrace of the Leper King. Discover Ta Prohm, a mystical temple entwined with jungle roots. In the afternoon, marvel at Angkor Wat, an 81-hectare masterpiece with intricate bas-reliefs and five iconic towers. End with a sunset view from Pre Rup temple.

Drive to Phnom Kulen, a sacred mountain, to visit a grand Buddha statue, the River of Thousand Lingas with carved riverbed stones, and a majestic waterfall. On the return, explore Banteay Srei, the “Citadel of Women,” renowned for its intricate pink sandstone carvings, and Banteay Samre, a beautifully restored temple. Enjoy a free evening in Siem Reap, perhaps at the vibrant Angkor Night Market.

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, your guide welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel. Explore the city’s highlights: the Reunification Palace, a historic landmark from the Vietnam War; the French-colonial Notre Dame Basilica and Central Post Office; and the bustling Ben Thanh Market, perfect for souvenirs like silk ao dai. Spend the evening at leisure, strolling the Ben Thanh Night Market or visiting the Bitexco Financial Tower for city views.

Depart for Cai Be in the Mekong Delta after breakfast. Board a rowing boat through narrow canals, capturing the serene countryside. Cross the Mekong River to An Binh Island, visiting a local home to enjoy tea and traditional Southern music. Walk through orchards, visit workshops making rice paper and coconut candy, and explore brick kilns crafting pottery. Optionally, bike through villages to see schools, pagodas, and traditional houses. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by boat and coach, arriving in the late afternoon.

At 8:00 AM, depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, a 50km drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Explore this vast underground network used during the Vietnam War, watching an introductory video and crawling through safe sections. Upon arrival, transfer to Hoi An, a UNESCO-listed ancient town, and check into your hotel for a free evening.

At 6:00 PM, embark on a street food tour, sampling dishes like banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), bun rieu cua (crab noodle soup, note: unsuitable for crustacean allergies), banh xeo (crispy pancakes), and Hanoi’s famous egg coffee. Visit Dong Xuan Market to explore local ingredients and end at a hidden café overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, immersing in weekend local life.

At 8:30 AM, sip coffee at a café on Phung Hung Street, watching trains pass through this unique urban corridor. Explore the Ho Chi Minh Complex, viewing the Mausoleum (exterior), Stilt House, and One Pillar Pagoda, a Buddhist icon from 1049. Depart Hanoi by shuttle bus for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Board the Paradise Cruise at Tuan Chau Marina, enjoying welcome drinks and a briefing. Savor lunch while cruising past limestone karsts. Visit Titop Island to hike for panoramic views or swim at its beach. Return to the cruise for a Happy Hour sunset and a Vietnamese cooking class. After a Western-style dinner, try squid fishing or relax with drinks or movies.
