Itinerary

Arrive in Hanoi and be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver for a transfer to your hotel. After a brief rest, stroll the bustling Old Quarter, sampling street foods like phở, rice pancakes, pillow cakes, and draught beer. Visit Dong Xuan Market to discover local ingredients, then savor Hanoi’s iconic egg coffee at a hidden café overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. On Fridays, explore the vibrant night market and walking streets around the lake, immersing in weekend local life. Return to your hotel.
Overnight in Hanoi. Meals: Dinner

Begin at 8:00 AM with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, visiting the Mausoleum (closed Mondays/Fridays), Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, and the historic One Pillar Pagoda from 1049. Explore Quan Thanh Temple, a Taoist relic from the Ly Dynasty, and Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist site on West Lake. After lunch, visit Bat Trang Ceramic Village to mold clay and craft pottery. Tour the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university built in 1070, and Hoan Kiem Lake’s Ngoc Son Temple, reached via The Huc Bridge. Conclude with a Water Puppet Show. Note: Dress modestly (no short clothing) for temples and the Mausoleum.

Arrive in Lao Cai at 6:00 AM and transfer to Sapa (1 hour). After breakfast, trek to Cat Cat Village, pausing at a waterfall and hydroelectric station. Walk through rice terraces and along a river to Y Linh Ho Village, home to Black H’mong people, for lunch by the river. Continue through Muong Hoa Valley to Lao Chai (Black H’mong) and Tavan (Giay minority) villages, marveling at scenic trails. Return to Sapa by car.

Drive along National Road 4D to a trekking point northeast of Sapa. Trek uphill for 2 hours through a rocky valley to Sau Chua and Sa Seng, Black H’mong hamlets transitioning from nomadic to sedentary life, with rustic homes and stone walls. Enjoy lunch in the village. Ascend Den Thang Mountain to Hang Da Village at 1,800 meters, overlooking Muong Hoa Valley, and visit local homes. Walk 30 minutes to Thao Hong Den for stunning valley views, then descend to Pho Village in Hau Thao. Transfer to Lao Cai Station for the night train to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi at 6:00 AM and rest briefly at La Rosa Hotel. Depart between 7:45–8:30 AM by shuttle bus to Tuan Chau Marina. Check in at La Regina Royal lounge with a welcome drink, then board the cruise at 12:30 PM for a safety briefing and itinerary overview. Enjoy a set-menu lunch while sailing through Halong Bay’s limestone karsts. At 3:00 PM, visit Luon Cave for kayaking or rowing, then explore Titov Island for swimming or hiking. Return for a sunset “Happy Hour” and learn to make spring rolls with the chef. Savor dinner at 7:00 PM (on the sundeck, weather permitting), followed by squid fishing or spa services (surcharge).
