After breakfast, depart at 8:00 AM for the Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast underground network in Cu Chi district used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Explore this historic site, pivotal during the 1968 Tết Offensive, which served as a hideout and supply route. Return to Saigon for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, tour the Notre Dame Cathedral, built by French colonists (1863–1880), and the Saigon Central Post Office, a French-era architectural gem. Upon arrival, your local guide and private bus escort you to a centrally located hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring nearby markets to experience authentic Cambodian life. Begin with a guided tour of Phnom Penh’s highlights, starting at the Royal Palace Complex, including the Royal Residence, Throne Hall, Chan Chaya Pavilion, and Silver Pagoda, featuring a gold Buddha adorned with 9,584 diamonds. Walk 10 minutes to the National Museum, housing a vast collection of Khmer art. After lunch, visit the Choeng Ek Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), somber memorials to the Khmer Rouge atrocities. Explore the UNESCO-listed Angkor complex, starting with Angkor Thom, built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century. Visit its key monuments: Bayon, with its iconic face towers, Baphoun, and the Terrace of Elephants. Continue to Ta Prohm, a mystical temple entwined with banyan tree roots. After lunch, tour Angkor Wat, the largest and best-preserved monument in the Angkor group, renowned for its architectural harmony. End the day with a sunset view from Phnom Bakheng temple.
